Gift Baskets
When there is a large group that needs to be thanked,
gift baskets can be the most successful way of doing it. They typically
have plenty of fresh fruit such as bananas, apples, oranges, avocados,
grapes, mango, papaya, strawberries and pineapples. Since the fruit
is perishable these baskets are often hand delivered the same day that
they were arranged into the basket.
Gift baskets usually contain dry foods, canned foods, and bottled drinks
as well. These can be chocolate, bread, coffee, crackers, jam, honey,
champagne, wine, liquor, nuts or anything else. Most have a combination
of many items that complement each other, such as cheese and crackers
with wine and fresh berries. A gourmet basket often has unusual or rare
and expensive items that are difficult to find.
Gift baskets can also contain items that are not edible. A popular
addition is a stuffed animal that is related to the theme of the basket
or holiday. Cash is always a great present to include, but flowers and
plants are much more common. Many companies give away baskets filled
with promotional items such as hats and t-shirts or other similar branded
items.
